Buenos Aire's premiere dance club

Getting down with deejay Gonzalo Solimano
The Place:Mint

The Scene:
From downtown Buenos Aires, the cab ride to MINT is enough to give a jittery tourist the fear of their life. Ultimately, the ride ends down a private drive along a dark peninsula along the river and just opposite the regional airport. The crowd seems to arrive all at once, forming two likes at the rear entrance of the club. The VIP entrance is closer to the parking lot and attended by a six-foot wide Ecuadorian bouncer. Inside, Mint is divided between an indoor dance floor and VIP overlook as well as an outdoor bar and dance floor that overlooks the river. By moonlight the setting is magical, with canopy beds and kissing lovers. Music is a mix of trance and hip-hop spun by circuit deejays and musicians.

JetSet Tips:
When visiting, make a post-midnight entrance on any Friday night and make sure to get on the VIP list at the front door. Speak English and be fabulous.

Last Word:
The ultimate Mint night is Friday, a massive 20-something party led by Argentina's premier deejay, Gonzalo Solimano.
