Star-sushi chef teams-up with LA's biggest name in nightlife
The Place:Katsuya

The Scene:
One of LA's Star sushi chefs recreates an ancient Japanese cooking art at this destination eatery by Philippe Starck in LA's Brentwood Village. The first in a line of Japanese eateries designed by the superstar architect makes its debut in Brentwood, think posh suburbia with OJ-history, reinvented as a "building within a building" concept pioneered by Starck to recreate a genuine Shogun-style dining room within a glassy epiphysis. The structure includes a lively dining room and be-seen bar decorated with intricate murals and blinking eyelid-art mixed with a sexy architectural edge.

The Food:
Chef Katsuya Uechi, of Studio City’s Katsu, serves up a much-guarded style of ancient Japanese cuisine paired with his already-touted sushi selections popular with LA’s 85-lbs actress set. Tea-time hangout for London fashion-crowd

Owner’s of The Ivy unveil destination eatery for English JetSet
The Place:The Wolseley
The Scene:
It’s owners operate some of the chicest locales to pick-up a fork in all of London, namely The Ivy, Le Caprice, and J. Sheekey. But since opening, it’s become the preeminent destination for the dining fashion-set and afternoon tea drinkers in search of a hot cup of style and celeb-watching. The Wolseley occupies a former car showroom that is decorated in a style similar to a French tearoom of Viennese osteria. It’s size is dwarfing, offering generous size parlor and drawing rooms for morning coffee as well as business lunches and late-night dinner. It’s the hardest tea reservation in all of London. But for those lucky enough to snag a seat, the sight of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell noshing on cakes and sandwiches makes up for all the effort.
The Food:
The menu is a traditional affaire of Parisian staples like steak-frites, escargot and tuna tartare. As with most Brit restaurants, expect a patronizing selection of white fish, puddings and even beers on hand to make the blokes feel welcome. But with over-10 champagnes available by-the-glass, it seems every fancy is aptly catered to by the menu. Service can be a bit hit-or-miss with attention being paid to well-heeled locals and celebrities above your khaki and polo-wearing Americans. Dear Americans - please try to at least dress the part!
Last Word:
If arriving during the day be sure to visit the adjacent boutique stickled with everything from ashtrays and cruet-sets to wine and coffee.

Remodeled Gaya splashes Paris scene

Pierre Gagnaire's acclaimed seafood restaurant minus the hideous old decor
The Place:Gaya Rive Gauche
The Scene:
It’s the dining room where you’ll want to be spotted whilst in Paris. The crowd varies between waif-thin models with their booking agents and French elite from media and design. Recently renovated, the beloved fish house now resembles the typical minimalist dining room found in most international cities – but that’s where the comparisons end. Inventive fish creations are served-up for lunch and dinner within an eating hall furnished with Corian tables of whimsical patterns and a super-cool bar for posing and prowling for available seating.
The Food:
The menu, in the hands of Pierre Gagnaire, is explicitly devoted to fish but with more variation and abundance than before with selections such as oysters with foie gras, pan-friend or grilled sole or à la Duglurée (as well as the potatoes) by the private chef of the famous Rothschild family. First courses range from superb carpaccio of sea bass with sea snails and the clever Gagnaire-designed sandwich of tuna, poutargue (pressed tuna roe), bresaola, prosciutto, and fresh vegetables on brioche. Expect small portions of artfully presented food, as in a seafood gelée arranged with white beans or cod medallions in a martini glass with soba noodles and grapefruit. Main courses range from the classic langoustine with semolina to the unusual but delicious monkfish tandoori with turnips and honey cream.
Last Word:

Rock-star following for Vegas’ sexiest chef
The Place: Simon Kitchen and Bar

The Scene:
A youthful multi-sensory dining experience penned by restaurant architect Yabu Pushelberg features an airy Balinese-minded dining area with open kitchen and sunny patio. The décor mixes raw natural wood in a stylish yet understated manner. A mix of wood-slatted and bronzed panels of ancient screens (used for printing kimono designs) creates a dramatic backdrop as supermodel-slash-waitresses pose in striking Catherine Malandrino uniforms. Aside from the central dining room, three private dining areas and a patio play host to intimate parties and celebrity soirees by Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger and Goldie Hawn.

The Food:
There is a lot of salesmanship in the restaurant and meu of Simon Kitchen, beginning with the dashing young chef that seems as big a celebrity as the Hollywood elite he serves. Chef Kerry Simon's creates a sensual dining experience of curious flavor combinations that is both favorable and entertaining. Appetizers like colossal crab cakes with papaya Asian slaw and bluefin tuna tartare laced with lemongrass are culinary perfection. Ultra-exclusive piano bar at the Gramercy Park

The tightest velvet rope in New York, just ask Paris Hilton
The Place:Rose

The Scene:
It's nearing midnight and you've made your way to Gramercy Park only to face a buttoned-up doorman-slash-bouncer-slash-actor insisting the hotel is open to guests only -- all as Mary-Kate Olsen ducks-in wearing full-length woolly cardigan. If you manage to make the first cut, you'll pass through the regal hotel lobby with its wood-paneling and million-dollar artwork framed by velvety curtains. The next obstacle is at the lounge itself, cordoned-off by a fairy tale-like rope and distinguished clipboard operator assessing your situation. There are two types of people given entrance to the Rose lounge, those who know people and those known by everybody and respected by the hotel's management. Once inside, a distinguished hotel lounge with piano bar and stone fireplace crackles with intelligent conversations and subtle social climbing all but extinguished by 12am in the rest of New York. On occasion the piano is absconded by people like Mick Jagger or Jack Black for midnight serenades and those once-in-a-lifetime impromptu performances.

JetSet Tips:
Make sure that sleeve is Dior or be sporting Mr. Galliano at the end of it for gaining unobstructed entry. Hotel guests are granted prompt entry before 10pm, but anytime after it's first-come-first-served with guest list priority.

Last Word:
If the hotel wasn't a statement enough to Ian Schrager's new brand identity, this ultra exclusive social enclave of distinguished nightlife should do the trick. While many a rumor has circulated that Paris Hilton was banned from the bar, in all actuality the bar hits capacity at around 100-guests and a law is a law.

Calling all Chanel-swimsuits to sultry Marrakech water lounge

Landlocked La Plage eatery on the outside on Marrakech
The Place:La Plage Rouge
The Scene:
There are other pools in Marrakech, but this is the sexiest. Located 10km outside of Marrakech on a little-traveled road, the location feels like a scene in a Hollywood movie complete with camels and desert mirage. Already known as a desert party city, this sophisticated sand-edged water theme restaurant is currently the hottest thing in the desert. The all-day pool lounge features mattress rental, bar service and international deejays spinning under the piercing desert sun. The 80-meter sunken-sand swimming pool is arranged with oversized loungers offering towel and water service by sexy model-cum-waiter staff. Well-oiled figures spend the day basting by the pool while snacking on a light mix of fusion food and icy cocktails. With such a setting, it's difficult to force yourself indoors where the dressier main dining room features white-glove lounge dining on gourmet French cuisine that has earned the owners 3-Michlin stars at their Montpellier and Paris-based restaurants.
JetSet Tips:
Forget taking the hotel towel, simply grab your cutest beach bag and a sleek cover-up should you opt for a last minute dinner with an Arabian prince.
Last Word:
Not the first “beach” to top up in this desert oasis, but it’s certianly the feature destination of leggy globetrotters and well-defined torsos looking for maximum exposue in Africa’s chic party city.

Buenos Aire's premiere dance club

Getting down with deejay Gonzalo Solimano
The Place:Mint

The Scene:
From downtown Buenos Aires, the cab ride to MINT is enough to give a jittery tourist the fear of their life. Ultimately, the ride ends down a private drive along a dark peninsula along the river and just opposite the regional airport. The crowd seems to arrive all at once, forming two likes at the rear entrance of the club. The VIP entrance is closer to the parking lot and attended by a six-foot wide Ecuadorian bouncer. Inside, Mint is divided between an indoor dance floor and VIP overlook as well as an outdoor bar and dance floor that overlooks the river. By moonlight the setting is magical, with canopy beds and kissing lovers. Music is a mix of trance and hip-hop spun by circuit deejays and musicians.

JetSet Tips:
When visiting, make a post-midnight entrance on any Friday night and make sure to get on the VIP list at the front door. Speak English and be fabulous.

Last Word:
The ultimate Mint night is Friday, a massive 20-something party led by Argentina's premier deejay, Gonzalo Solimano.

Beachside pool party with world-class DJs and globetrotters
The Place:Puro Beach

The Scene:
Perched on a mini peninsula with 180-degree views of the Bay of Palma, this beachside spin-off of the acclaimed Puro Hotel offers an all-day sanctuary for the spiritually evolved and fun-inclided. Neither a nightclub nor a beach club, this one-of-a-kind lifestyle concept mixes equal parts of restaurant, lounge, pool, spa, yoga studio and thriving nightlife scene. Guests begin arriving at dawn, as gentle meditation tunes pulsate through the sound system for those on hand for sunrise yoga, Taichi and spa treatments followed by a casual breakfast. The lower level of the club features a spa area with four treatment rooms, rain showers, and candlelit room for yoga during winter months. As the sun hits midday, house DJ´s spin progressive house while guests soak-up the sun on terrace sun beds while noshing on salads, fresh smoothies and fruit plates. The terrace pool is all black, made of natural Balinese flat pebble stones, which tend to be as hard on barefeet as stilettos (think sandals). A Sunset ceremony livens up the club, as bronzed beauties rise from their loungers and kick off the evening with a champagne toast and sexy lounge scene that lasts till 3am.

JetSet Tips:
Guests arriving by sea can dock directly at PuroBeach and take advantage of its yacht services while using the spa, grabbing a fitness class or making use of the restaurant or lounge.

Last Word:
Suitable for any age, the club maintains a far-more dignified scene than one would find at a Nikki Beach or a St Tropez beach club -- meaning no champagne-bathing sheiks or Russian-models dancing on the bar. The space features on of the most ingenious mixed-use facilities in the world and a surprisingly inspirational setting on one of the Europe’s more tourist-plagued islands.

'Tell only your best friends' in St. Tropez

Sexy party scene for post-beach party crowd
The Place:Nikki Beach

The Scene:
One of the sexiest beaches in France is neither on the beach or even French. A child of the infamous Nikki Beach in Miami, Nikki St Tropez boasts an poolside beach environment of fine dining, first class boozing and some of the sexiest flirting in the world. Playing off St. Tropez's recent revival, the club pays tribute to hip-hop culture with a sultry atmosphere of cocktail lounging and poolside entertainment. In helicopters, Bentleys and on their yachts, guests come looking for the eye candy St Tropez is now synonymous. Nikki Beach is located off the beach about a 500-feet inland, a decent enough distance given the scalding hot sand insummer. The club offers loungers as well as poolside beds for an additional fee. Diners invade the space at dusk as party revealers invade once the sun has gone down-around 10PM during the summer.
JetSet Tips:
The perfect place to spend the late afternoon baking and boozing while meeting some of the sexiest bodies in the world.
Last Word:
Sexy heiresses lying topless with their mom and dad as men walk by wearing their tightest briefs and boardshorts. Nikki Beach attracts a younger and sexier scene than its competitors La Voile Rouge and Club 55, but at the same time gives off more of an American-vibe than one wants in the South of French. Great for singles and serious party-types, Nikki Beach suits the seaside needs of bling culture.

St. Tropez's crown jewel of disco

A champagne-fest of partying oppulence
The Place:Les Caves du Roy

The Scene:
Perhaps the most famous nightclub in France, Les Caves du Roy is a dance institution that defies age and time. Located within the renowned Hotel Byblos, the club is a sanctuary of modern music that has recently been resurrected with a namesake CD that has circulated the world over. Nestled off the main passageway of the hotel, the entrance is protected by guards larger than most army officers. Ensuring that celebrities and elite are given a private environment free of paparazzi, the guards do their best to secure the safety of Byblos royalty that in the past has included everyone from Mick Jagger to Sean Coombs. The club maintains the same look sported since its inception; baroque columns with gold brocade still tower above VIP booths embroidered with the notorious Byblos insignia and oriental touches. The women are the most beautiful in the world and the men; unlike in LA or New York, actually know how to dance. Champagne corks pop by the minute as platinum cards swipes to the percussion of trance and techno remixes. At the helm of the Les Caves du Roy is deejay Jack-E who can spin everything from a Patricia Kaas track to the latest Beyonce track flawlessly. J
JetSet Tips:
Champagne by the bottle, bring the prettiest ladies you know and dress like your clothes are who you are and who you are is nothing short of fabulous.
Last Word:
During the summer a soft wind blows down the main corridor of the Byblos Hotel as stiletto heels and Gucci loafers make their way to the Les Caves du Roy. The tanned skin of locals, who spent their days at the beach club, moistens as they begin to sway to the music of the Byblos. From mellow grooves to ladies dancing on the tables at 6AM, when Les Caves du Roy comes alive there is no scene or words to compare its allure and sex appeal.

Bangkok's most exclusive bar and lounge

Getting in is the hardest part

The Place:BED

The Scene:
Sex tourists and the Eastern Jet Set collide ALA Space Sprockets at Bangkok's hottest supper club and bar. A long, cylinder-like shaft is home to Thailand's most famous BED. Perhaps the motto suits the supper club best, "Who will you go to Bed with tonight?" A great place to Westernize and meet the man of your dreams, the location seems better fit to the astronaut of your dreams or maybe even a Martian. BED rocks with sexual ambition in chic Thailand with weekly events and the best deejays south of Tokyo.

JetSet Tips:
Bring your own date and just enjoy a great night of dancing and visual entertainment.

Last Word:
Whether for dinner or just late night drinks, BED is an experience worthy of a visit-especially by techno lovers and trance addicts. While the scene will likely confuse with sexual ambiguity, make sure the woman of your dream is actually a woman.

Hollywood lounge for jetset partiers and movie-star elite

The rich fight the famous for room on the tightest guest-list in town
The Place:Hyde Lounge

The Scene:

In a hard to figure-out 1930s strip center, LA-nightlife czar Sam Nazarian debuts a Brit-style drinking bar and lounge behind a minimalist stone storefront and single-wooden door along Sunset Boulevard. Cozier and far smaller you than you would expect of a hotspot, the first-floor lounge features leather and crocodile-trimmed upholstery with oversized Monkeywood tables under a pounded-copper ceiling shimmering in candles suspended from iridescent walls. The bar features a small plate menu of fusion dishes, ranging from Japanese finger-foods to sushi, created by Katsuya Uechi.

JetSet Tips:

Expect a crowd and heavy door-security, since opening in mid-2006 Hyde has become the it-club of LA’s starlet-set including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

Last Word:

A simple lounge with DJ booth, dressed-up with Mac-mixing machine and heavy tech-equipment, features rotating deejays from 10pm with an emphasis on rock. If the doorman says he’s at capacity, he probably isn’t lying since the club only accommodates around 100-guests.

Fashion Phone - The Devil Talks on Prada

Apple’s I-Phone gets some competition from the catwalk
The Scene:While everyone in the US awaits the summer debut of Apple's I-Phone, the folks at LG have teamed with Prada to create a remarkably similar- maybe even chicer mobile phone that is sweeping fashionistas off their Blackberry's. The sleek, all-black cellphone comes complete with a touch-screen display and dimensions almost identical to the I-Phone. Where the two phones deviate is LG-Prada's obvious incompatibility with Apple's beloved I-Tunes. For those worrying about the phone's compatibility with their favorite Prada bag, on the other hand, it features a 3-inch screen and is just less than half an inch thick. A 2 megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, a music/video player, document reader, and microSD memory slot also make it professionally as well as fashionably substantive. But before you hit your local mobile outlet with $750 (600-Euros) in hand, the phone is only available in Europe and Asia and pretty much everywhere but the United States.
